In Peer Review, students provide edits/feedback on each other's essay drafts, before the final papers are due. The process of Peer Review is designed to not only help students improve and polish their papers before submitting, but also to train students in editing and revising techniques that they can use throughout their academic careers. We recommend planning to lead at least two Peer Review sessions before each paper deadline.
The most successful Peer Review sessions are carefully guided and structured by the instructor, so that students know exactly what feedback to provide. You will want to adapt each peer review session to focus on specific objectives and the specific requirements of the essay prompt.
Below you will find examples of Peer Review worksheets, guidelines, and activities that instructors have provided in the past.
