Description
A survey of modern poetry, emphasizing its international, multicultural, and revolutionary aspects. Rather than reading a handful of "major" poets, we will look broadly at the landscape of modern poetry, with particular attention to such experimental movements as Futurism, Dada, Surrealism, and Negritude. We will study poems as language experiments, as performance, and as play.
