Persona is now accepting submissions and staff applications for the 2007-2008 issue. Contact us by email at persona@txstate.edu
Submissions:
  • Limit verse to 100 lines, fiction to 3000 words.
  • Save files in Microsoft Word or similar program and send to us as attachments. Do NOT paste the text of your submission into the body of your email message.
  • The subject line of the email should include your full name and nature of the submission. it should read as follows:
    "SUBMISSION: POETRY (YOUR NAME) or
    "SUBMISSION: FICTION (YOUR NAME)
  • Multiple attachments may be sent with a single email, but if submitting both verse and fiction, please send them separately.
  • Include a brief (50 words) bio in case of acceptance.
  • The final deadline for submissions will be Tuesday, February 28, 2008. Don't wait until the last minute!
  • The Gates-Thomas award is given to one undergratuate poem and short story each year. All students (undergrad, grad, post grad) enrolled in either Fall '07 or Spring '08 semesters may submit and be published, but only undergraduates are eligible for Gates-Thomas. Faculty many not submit, unless they are also enrolled in classes.
Staff Applications

Please send all inquiries and applications for Persona Staff 2007-2008 to persona@txstate.edu. Your application should include contact information, classification/major, a list of English (or otherwise pertinent) courses, non-academic qualifications (experience in publications, as a writer, etc), and a brief (one page) letter explaining why you want to work for Persona and what you would bring to the journal. Also, specify on which area of the journal you are particularly interested in working (poetry, fiction, art/photography, design/layout, etc.). The subject line should read STAFF APPLICATION. You must be enrolled in at least one semester of the 2007-2008 school year to work for Persona. Please direct all questions to the email address listed.
